Dan Morris serves as Vice President of Acquisitions & Development, responsible for the enhancement and growth of the existing RMC portfolio by procuring new business opportunities. Mr. Morris focuses on development and redevelopment projects in both growth and infill locations throughout the Southeast. He currently spends considerable time sourcing and evaluating acquisition opportunities of distressed and potential “value-added” retail assets.
Mr. Morris joined RMC in 2009, bringing with him twenty years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining RMC Mr. Morris spent four years as the Director of Retail Real Estate for Opus South Corporation, where he was responsible for managing the origination, development, and leasing of retail shopping centers throughout the Southeast. While at Opus South, Mr. Morris successfully sourced and executed development deals with many national tenants, including JC Penny, Best Buy, The Sports Authority, Ross, Office Depot, Pet Smart, Panera Bread and Wachovia Bank.
Prior to Opus South Mr. Morris spent six years at The Hogan Group as the Vice President of Retail, where he was responsible for managing a team of employees through the origination, development, and leasing of retail shopping centers. He focused on single tenant opportunities, as well as strip center developments. Mr. Morris developed strong retailer relationships which resulted in a preferred developer status for Eckerd Drug Corporation. While at The Hogan Group Mr. Morris also effectively sourced and executed development deals with many national tenants including, Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, Carrabba’s, McDonalds, SouthTrust Bank, and 7-Eleven.
Mr. Morris holds a B.S. degree in Liberal Studies with a Business Major from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and has completed advanced course-work at Rutgers University.
Mr. Morris is a licensed real estate salesperson in Florida, an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Real Estate Investment Council of Tampa Bay (REIC). |
