Michael Rice rejoined RMC in 2009 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of RMC Property Group, overseeing day-to-day operations of leasing, property management, financial, I/T and administrative functions. He works closely with the principals and department vice presidents to determine acquisition and development strategy and to analyze and review asset and portfolio alternatives. Mr. Rice brings 25 years of diverse business experience, including 13 years in commercial real estate development and brokerage. From 1995 through 2004, he served as EVP of FOG Development and its successor, RMC Property Group. Mr. Rice managed the FOG Development’s growth from three individuals into a structured, organized business of 50 employees with offices in Tampa, Atlanta, Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2004, Mr. Rice returned to the practice of management consulting, establishing Rice Consulting Solutions, a one-stop consultant to small business addressing all areas of business strategy, management and implementation. Mr. Rice has a unique ability to work in the technology area, combining a thorough understanding of systems with the practical application within different business environments. Prior to ‘95, Mr. Rice spent six years working for the human resources and benefits consulting firm of William M. Mercer, Inc. (Mercer Management Consulting), in both New York and Louisville, KY. Specializing in the area of employee and incentive compensation and leading a client services group of Mercer’s systems and technology division, his client base included many of the Fortune 1000 financial services and manufacturing companies. Mr. Rice earned his Bachelors Degree in Economics from The University of Michigan. After working for four years in real estate acquisitions and brokerage in New York, he returned to NYU to pursue his MBA in Finance. Mr. Rice is committed to giving back to his community, volunteering in many capacities. He is a long-standing member of the board of trustees of Independent Day School and the Tampa Jewish Federation, having served as a vice president and community fundraising campaign chair for three years. |
